Think. Debate. Collaborate.: SAIoneers Begin Their HMUN India Journey

The much-awaited Harvard Model United Nations India 2026 journey began on a spirited note as our SAIoneers travelled from Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru to participate in the prestigious conference, being held from August 13 to 16, 2026. The Bengaluru chapter of the 16th session of HMUN India is bringing together young minds to engage with pressing global issues through structured debate, negotiation and collaboration.

Day 1 commenced with the delegates settling into the conference atmosphere and attending the opening ceremony, which set the stage for four days of meaningful dialogue and diplomacy. Filled with enthusiasm and confidence, the students soon immersed themselves in committee proceedings across DISEC, UNDP and SPECPOL. SAIoneers actively participated in discussions on complex real-world challenges, presenting perspectives, exchanging ideas and working towards elaborate and practical solutions. Their engagement reflected not only their understanding of global issues but also their ability to listen, negotiate, collaborate and articulate their ideas with conviction.

The experience provided the students with an opportunity to step into the shoes of diplomats and policymakers, encouraging them to think beyond conventional solutions and understand the importance of consensus in addressing global challenges. HMUN India itself emphasises collaboration, substantive debate and the ability to work effectively with fellow delegates to create meaningful solutions. As the eventful first day drew to a close, the students gathered for a sumptuous dinner on the terrace of the hotel. The relaxed evening offered them a chance to unwind, reflect on the day's experiences and recharge for the sessions ahead.

With Day 1 setting a strong foundation, the SAIoneers look forward to the remaining days of Harvard MUN India with renewed enthusiasm, determination and the spirit to lead through dialogue and diplomacy.
