Road Safety Week 2026 Observed Through Interact Club Initiative

As part of Road Safety Week 2026, the Interact Club of the school organised a Road Safety Observation programme on 16 January 2026 at the Bharat Petroleum and CNG Gas Filling Station, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar. The initiative was undertaken to promote awareness about road safety rules and encourage responsible driving practices among the public.

The programme was graced by Shri Sanat Kumar Jena, Regional Transport Officer, Bhubaneswar, who delivered an informative address highlighting the importance of obeying traffic regulations, wearing helmets and seat belts, and maintaining discipline on the road. The school extended complete support and encouragement to the Interact Club students in successfully planning and executing the programme.

Students, accompanied by teachers and staff members, participated actively in the observation. To make the awareness drive more impactful, the students presented a short skit conveying important road safety messages. They also prepared handmade badges carrying the message “Pledge to Drive Safe,” which were distributed to the public and affixed as stickers on vehicles. Informative leaflets provided by the RTO were also distributed to enhance public awareness.

During the programme, students sensitised motorists who were not wearing helmets or seat belts, counselling them politely on the importance of following safety norms. The initiative was later extended to the school campus, where management members, the Principal, teachers, and students wore the badges to reaffirm their commitment to road safety.

The Road Safety Week observation proved to be a meaningful and impactful experience, instilling a sense of responsibility, civic awareness, and social accountability among students while reinforcing the importance of safe and responsible road behaviour.
