At Sai International School we believe in providing each and every student with a
wide spectrum of international exposure via school exchange programmes and
projects. Some of them are:
| International School Award The DCSF (Dept for Children, Schools and Families) International School Award is
an accreditation scheme for curriculum-based international work in schools. The
scheme provides recognition for schools and teachers to instilla global dimension
into the learning experience of all children and young people. |
 |
As guided by the British
Council, the projects under this
scheme are curriculum based,
cover a variety of subjects and
involve classes at every level as
well as running throughout the
school year. During any
academic session, students of
SAI International School enjoy
interacting with other schools
around the world to share
knowledge, experience and
learn from each other; which in
turn will help them embrace
cultural diversity as they grow
and prepare for life on the
world stage.
Going Global Club:
The new “Going Global” club of students, is coordinating the projects as well as assisting in promoting the
international dimension in the school and maintaining links with other students, teachers. The club activities
range from email video interaction with the students of other countries, researching cultures of other
countries, exhibitions, cultural assemblies, and theme weeks.
Global School Partnerships:
DFID (Dept for International Development, UK)
Global School Partnerships promotes
partnerships between schools in the UK and
schools in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the
Caribbean.
The programme provides advice and guidance,
professional development opportunities and
grants to schools that are using school
partnerships as a means for developing a global
dimension within their curriculum.
DGSP’s Reciprocal Visit Grant is funding for
schools in the early stages of their partnership
and allows for teachers of each school to visit
their partner school for up to 5 days to plan joint
curricular activities that will embed a global
dimension into the schools’ curricula.
The Global Curriculum Project Grant is aimed at
established partnerships and allows for up to 2
teachers to travel to the partner school for
project development as well as project costs as
materials, supplies and training.
SAI-oneers have been
working with students of
various Schools, across the
globe through regular video
conferences under the
Global School Partnership
Program, UK. Since
November 2008, students of
Chosen Hill School, UK & SAI
International have
established the first
partnership for reciprocal
visit grant.
