Scintillating Singapore

SAI International school believes in making learning effective and meaningful by taking the children on a ride of experiences through activities beyond the classroom. The young learners are exposed to a wide array of experiences to widen their horizon of learning and not only create interest in the young minds but also arouse a quest for gaining more and more knowledge about the planet they are living in. Edu-cursions, in other words excursions for the purpose of education, are an integral aspect of the curriculum at SAI. Be it a trip to the railway station, or a visit to the museum, our students get the opportunity to have a firsthand experience of the lessons learnt in the classroom.

Puja vacation was an exciting and memorable experience for 55 students who had a weeklong visit to the wonderland Singapore with the Chairman, trustee and the Principal from 15th October to 22nd October. The team of highly enthusiastic students with the guardians of the School flew to Mumbai and then to Singapore on 15th.They reached Changi International Airport and were given a warm welcome by Jerry and Serena, the local tour guides. No jetlag could keep them away from a tour of the dazzling city.A Night Safari was another added attraction on the first day after checking in into the beautiful Hotel Riverview. It was like embarking on a fascinating journey through the world’s first wildlife night park. The group enjoyed the Halloween festival and also watched the Jhumbuakar performance by the fire eaters.

An exciting tour of the Science park and the Jurong Bird Park, the world’s largest Bird park was another cherishing experience. The Science Park satiated the thirst of the young and budding Scientists of the school to acquire a lot of information that opened up their minds to the greater world of Science. The visit to the 3-D Omni theatre was also no less exciting an event for the children.

The third day was a more delightful day for all, with a tour of the Universal Studios and a shopping spree at the most dream shopping destination ‘The Mustafa’. Amazing sights and experiences got unfolded one after another in the Universal Studios .The 4-D show on popular comic character Shrek, the death defying stunts in the water world, the breath taking river raft ride in the Jurassic park and finally a roller coaster ride to the ancient Egypt named ‘Revenge of the Mummy’ were additions extravaganza to relish.

The last day of the tour in Singapore had a series of thrilling ventures. A tour of the Singapore Management University was a feast for the eyes. They saw the gigantic New water Hydra Plant, that provides pure drinking water to the whole of Singapore.

The Sentosa Resort, an amusement Park was the ultimate venue of real amusement and thrill. The laser show “Songs of the Sea” was a stupefying view to remember ever always. A ride in the ‘The Singapore Flyer’gave a bird’s eye view of the wonderful city and also a glimpse of the neighboring countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. Another journey of excitement was at the world’s first floating soccer stadium and the Formula 1 race track.

The time flew past and with great hesitation the team had to fly back to India on 21st October carrying with them memories of a life time.

The benefits gained by our students from this trip are worth cherishing for the whole life. The students enjoyed a panoramic view of the real essence of life and the nectar of the genuine exquisiteness and diversity of the cultural beauty of another part of the globe.
